Location
Known for its wildlife and wooded land, Earle Naval Weapons Station sits on 11,000 acres of one of the most beautiful Navy installations located in Colts Neck, New Jersey. The waterfront site, located 14 miles away in Leonardo, is situated in Sandy Hook Bay, overlooking the New York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean.

History
On Aug. 2, 1943, construction began on what was to be Naval Ammunition Depot Earle, named after Rear Admiral Ralph Earle, the Chief of the Bureau of Ordnance during World War One. The depot was commissioned on Dec. 13, 1943. Earle continued to develop after World War II, keeping pace with the changing needs of the Navy. In 1974, Earle’s name was officially changed to Naval Weapons Station Earle.
Mission
Naval Weapons Station Earle operates a receipts, storage, segregation and issue (RSSI) ordnance facility to support the Atlantic fleet including Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, and DoD conventional ammunition requirements, and also provides homeport services for assigned T-AOEs & T-AE. Today Earle continues to be the Navy’s premier Weapons Station.
Population Served
Naval Weapons Station Earle servers over 2,000 military DoD civilians and families. NWS Earle is the homeport to USS Seattle (AOE 3), USS Detroit (AOE 4), USS Supply (AOE 6), USS Arctic (AOE 8), and Combat Logistics Group 2.

Sponsorship
A sponsor is someone from your new command who is assigned to assist with settling into your new location, and is usually assigned through your gaining command.
Temporary Quarters
Deer Run Lodging is located in a wooded area on NWS Earle. Patrons can choose to stay in the 22 room hotel or one of 6 fully furnished townhomes. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to stay in the hotel with guests. There is no priority for PCS or TDY orders. Contact the lodging coordinator, 732-866-2121, for more information or Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC), 732-866-2115, for local hotel or kennel information.
Relocation Assistance
Family Newcomer Orientation/Indoctrination is presented individually by appointment at Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC). The FFSC offers one-on-one consultations providing information about both military and community resources such as schools, housing, employment, and recreation. FFSC has Lodging Kits with household items for check-out from the FFSC loan locker free of charge. Contact the Relocation Specialist at 732-866-2115.
